About Scott

Scott Lesowitz earned his law degree from Harvard Law School in 2007 after completing a bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2004. He moved quickly into legal practice following graduation. Early training at a large international firm gave him exposure to complex civil matters and the operations of a global practice.

His career path shows steady movement between private firms and public service. In 2007 he began at Dentons. The following year he served as an Assistant United States Lawyer at the United States Lawyer's Office. He later returned to private practice, joining Miller Barondess, LLP in 2013 and Raines Feldman LLP in 2014. In 2017 he co-founded Lesowitz Gebelin LLP, where he has been listed as counsel.

Lesowitz holds active memberships in both the New York State Bar and the California State Bar. His admissions extend across several federal courts and appellate circuits. He is admitted in New York and California state courts, before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York, Northern District of California, Eastern District of New York and Central District of California, and he is admitted to practice before the 2nd, 9th and D.C. Circuits.

Colleagues describe Lesowitz as steady and practical at the courtroom table. He draws on his time in public office when preparing litigation strategy and when advising clients on procedural and evidentiary questions. His private-practice work has involved civil litigation across commercial and regulatory matters, with recurring periods handling federal cases in multiple districts.

His experience across different legal settings has given him familiarity with both trial and appellate practice. He has handled matters in trial courts and submitted briefs at the circuit level. That mix of trial and appellate work shapes how he prepares cases and advises clients about litigation risk and appellate posture.

As a partner at Lesowitz Gebelin LLP, he manages litigation files and coordinates filings in multiple jurisdictions. He maintains active bar memberships in two states and filings in several federal courts. He currently concentrates his practice on federal and state civil litigation, including trial and appellate work across the jurisdictions where he is admitted.
