About Scott Kenneth
Scott Kenneth Hewitt earned his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 1998 after studying trial practice there. The law school experience emphasized courtroom procedure and advocacy. Those formative years shaped an approach grounded in trial preparation and courtroom work.
He built a legal career in Florida. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. That dual qualification has allowed him to handle matters that move between state and federal courts. Over time he developed practical experience in pretrial motion practice, evidence presentation and courtroom strategy.
Early in his career he handled matters that required routine courtroom appearances. He gained exposure to both bench and jury settings. The background in trial practice from law school translated into steady courtroom work. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing witnesses and exhibits, and inclined to test arguments under real-time pressure.
His work has involved litigation tasks common to civil trial practice. He has prepared pleadings, argued motions and tried cases in front of judges and juries. He has also worked on appellate filings in the Eleventh Circuit. That appellate work required concise briefing and oral argument, skills he cultivated during and after law school.
Clients and opposing counsel have encountered him in cases that move through Florida’s trial courts and, when appeals follow, into the federal appellate system. He approaches each matter by building the factual record and organizing it for trial. He also places emphasis on consistent courtroom presentation, from witness preparation to exhibit management.
Outside the courtroom he continues to stay engaged with developments in trial advocacy. He revisits procedural updates and evidence rules that affect trial practice. He also draws on the trial training he received at Stetson when mentoring less experienced lawyers and staff.
He currently practices in Florida and appears in the Eleventh Circuit, handling trial litigation in state and federal courts.
