About Scott Jonathan

Scott Jonathan Goldstein completed his legal education at Duke University School of Law, earning his J.D. in 2001. He graduated from Haverford College in Pennsylvania in 1997 with a B.A. in history. Those formative years laid a foundation in critical reading and argument that he has carried into his legal work.

After law school, Goldstein built a practice centered on bankruptcy and consumer creditor-debtor matters. He is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and New York. Over time he has handled a range of cases that include individual bankruptcy filings, business reorganizations, and related litigation. His work requires regular engagement with federal bankruptcy courts and state court matters that touch on insolvency issues.

Goldstein has been active in the professional community for more than a decade. He joined the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers in 2010 and holds membership there to the present. Since 2011 he has been a member of the New Jersey Bankruptcy Inn of Court, which brings together judges, practitioners, and academics to discuss practice and procedure. Those affiliations have kept him connected to changes in bankruptcy law and nearby practitioners.

Colleagues describe Goldstein as steady in the courtroom. He approaches proceedings with an eye for the procedural detail that often decides contested matters. He prepares motions, negotiations, and hearings in a way that reflects the particular demands of bankruptcy dockets. Clients turn to him when cases require balancing legal strategy and practical outcomes.

Goldstein works out of a Ledgewood office. From there he manages cases in both New Jersey and New York. His practice involves consumer bankruptcy work as well as representation of creditors and debtors in reorganizations and workouts. He appears in bankruptcy court and handles related state court filings as needed.

Outside of active casework, he participates in professional discussions and continuing education through his Inn of Court and NACBA memberships. He follows developments in bankruptcy law that affect consumer protections and business reorganizations. He continues to provide counsel and representation from his Ledgewood office, focusing on bankruptcy and insolvency matters in New Jersey and New York.
