About Jake R.

Jake R. Vigil arrived at law after studying two social sciences that taught him to see systems and numbers together. He completed a dual undergraduate program at Florida State University, earning a B.S. in Sociology and Economics in 2018. He then went on to St. Thomas University College of Law and received his J.D. in 2022.

After law school, Vigil moved quickly into practice in Florida. He joined the Florida bar in 2022 and is admitted to practice in the state courts and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Those admissions opened the doors to a range of courtroom and federal-court work early in his legal career.

Vigil is an associate at Friedman Rodman Frank & Estrada, P.A. At the firm he has worked on matters that require detailed factual investigation and careful legal drafting. His day-to-day duties include legal research, drafting briefs and motions, managing discovery, and meeting with clients. He has experience preparing court filings and supporting trials and hearings in both state and federal settings.

Colleagues say Vigil blends an analytical approach with practical concern for client deadlines. He draws on his sociology background when assessing how factual narratives fit the law. His economics training informs cost-benefit questions around litigation strategy and settlement discussions. The combination is evident in how he frames legal issues for clients and for the court.

Vigil joined several professional organizations in 2022 and maintains active memberships. He is a member of The Florida Bar, the Young Lawyers Association, and the American Bar Association. Those memberships give him access to continuing education and to peer networks on litigation practice and courtroom procedure.

Outside the office he remains engaged with developments in federal procedure and state court rules. He attends seminars and participates in in-house training at Friedman Rodman Frank & Estrada, P.A. He aims to keep his work practical: clear pleadings, well-prepared witnesses, and timely responses to opposing counsel. He is an associate at Friedman Rodman Frank & Estrada, P.A., where he represents clients in matters before Florida state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
