About Scott
Scott Fitzgerald built his legal foundation at the College of William & Mary, where he earned a B.A. in History and Government in 2007, and continued at the William & Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2011. Those years set the pattern for a career that moved quickly between public service roles and private practice. He entered the legal profession with a blend of courtroom-side clerking and hands-on support roles.
After college he worked as a legal assistant at Schultz & Trombly in 2007, gaining practical exposure to client files and office procedures. During law school he took on a series of clerkships that broadened his litigation experience. In 2009 he served in both the Virginia Attorney General’s Office, Civil Litigation Division, Trial Section, and in the Alabama Attorney General’s Office, Capital Litigation Division. He also spent time as a temporary law clerk for Administrative Law Judge Gerrilyn Grant. Those positions put him into the middle of trial preparation and government-side litigation early in his career.
In 2010 he joined Allen, Allen, & Allen, P.C. as a summer associate. He transitioned to a full-time lawyer role at the firm in 2011. Over the ensuing decade he moved up through the firm’s ranks and was named a shareholder in 2022. His tenure at the firm has been steady, marked by a rise from associate-level responsibilities to firm leadership and client management.
Fitzgerald maintains an active membership in the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. His background—combining civil litigation work at the state attorney general level and long-term practice at Allen, Allen, Allen, and Allen—reflects a career centered on contested matters and courtroom work. Colleagues say his path through clerkships and early assistant roles provided a practical understanding of litigation mechanics that informs how he prepares cases and advises clients.
He practices out of Allen & Allen’s Richmond office, where he handles litigation on behalf of clients in Virginia state court. He focuses on civil litigation matters in Virginia.
