About Scott A
Scott A McGee built his legal foundation at Duke University, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in 2003, and at Columbia Law School, where he earned a J.D. in 2006. He followed a conventional path from elite academic programs into large-firm practice. The transition from law school to a national firm set the tone for the early years of his career.
He began his professional life as an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP in 2006. That role placed him inside one of the country’s large, multidisciplinary firms during the earliest stage of his post-law-school work. In 2007 he moved to Motley Rice LLC as a lawyer, a shift that marked a new phase in his practice and professional responsibilities.
His involvement in private practice continued to evolve. In 2014 he is listed as having membership in Antion McGee Law Group, PLLC. That step indicates a move toward a smaller firm structure and suggests a different kind of daily practice than his earlier big-firm experience. Across these positions, he has worked in environments that require collaboration, client counseling and courtroom readiness.
McGee holds licensure in multiple jurisdictions: New York, South Carolina, Illinois and West Virginia. He has been a member of the Charleston County Bar Association since 2007, maintaining a local professional connection alongside the multi-jurisdictional scope of his practice. That combination of local and multi-state admissions allows him to handle matters that span more than one legal system.
Peers and colleagues who have crossed paths with him describe a lawyer who navigates both firm-side structures and smaller practice settings. His resume shows movement from a national firm to a litigation firm and then to a member role at a named firm. Those steps reflect a career that has encompassed different organizational models and a range of legal tasks.
Today he conducts his practice through Antion McGee Law Group, PLLC. He remains admitted in four states and participates in the Charleston County Bar Association. He currently practices law through Antion McGee Law Group, PLLC, handling matters across his admitted jurisdictions.
