About Savannah
Savannah Stroud combined an undergraduate education in social work and criminal justice with a law degree to shape a career in Texas courtroom practice. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work, with a minor in Criminal Justice, from Washburn University in 2005. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2008.
She began her legal career in Bell County. In 2008 she joined The Carlson Law Office as a partner, a role she held for many years. Those early years in local practice gave her steady exposure to trial work and client representation in county-level matters. She has been active in the Bell County Bar Association since 2008 and served in leadership roles with the Bell County Young Lawyers, where she is listed as a past President-Elect.
Her involvement in professional associations continued as her practice matured. She joined the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association in 2013 and remains a member. Those connections reflect a sustained engagement with criminal defense practitioners across the state. Stroud’s work in courts around central Texas has included case preparation, hearings and jury trials, often in contested criminal matters.
In 2023 she moved into a partner position at Sanderford & Carroll, P.C. The change marked a new chapter in a career rooted in local practice and courtroom experience. Colleagues and clients see her as a lawyer who maintains hands-on involvement in case strategy, evidence review and trial preparation.
Stroud’s educational background in social work informs her approach to client contact and case assessment. That training lends perspective when interviewing witnesses, evaluating mitigation and working with family members affected by criminal charges. She applies that experience to the practical mechanics of litigation: filing motions, arguing evidentiary issues and presenting a case before judges and juries.
She is licensed to practice in Texas and remains active in county and state bar activities. Her career path runs from Washburn to Texas Tech, from The Carlson Law Office to Sanderford & Carroll, P.C. She now practices at Sanderford & Carroll, P.C., concentrating on criminal defense work in Texas.
