Sarkis Jacob Babachanian is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1994. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Babachanian is the founder and principal attorney at Babachanian | Legal Counsel, a law firm located in Glendale, California. He has been practicing law for over 31 years, serving clients throughout Los Angeles County and the surrounding areas.
Mr. Babachanian earned his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern Law School in 1993. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at California State University, Los Angeles, where he studied Criminal Justice. During his time at Southwestern Law School, he gained practical experience through externships with the Office of the City Attorney in Glendale, California, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
Mr. Babachanian concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense, personal injury, civil litigation, and dispute resolution. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving criminal charges, personal injury claims, business disputes, and bankruptcy adversary proceedings. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Babachanian has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. In addition to his private practice, he has served as a Temporary Judge (Judge Pro Tem) for the Los Angeles Superior Court and as an Attorney Settlement Officer for the United States District Court and the United States Bankruptcy Court.
Mr. Babachanian is an active member of the Glendale Bar Association, having served as its President in 2018 and as a Director on its Board of Directors from 2015 to 2017 and 2019. He is also a member of the Armenian Bar Association and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA). He has been recognized with Certificates of Appreciation from the United States District Court and the United States Bankruptcy Court. Mr. Babachanian is fluent in Armenian and can communicate in elementary Spanish and Russian, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
