About Mariya
Mariya Melkonyan earned her law degree from California Western School of Law. She entered the legal profession after finishing law school and soon moved into public service in Riverside County. Her education provided a foundation in litigation and procedure that shaped the early years of her career.
In 2008 she served as a Deputy District Lawyer IV at the Riverside District Lawyer's Office. In that role she handled courtroom appearances, prepared cases for trial, and worked on briefing and investigation alongside career prosecutors. The position placed her on the front lines of everyday prosecutorial work and gave her steady experience in evidence, witness preparation, and case strategy.
After her time at the district office she transitioned into private practice. She established The Law Offices of Mariya Melkonyan and began representing clients outside of the government setting. The move shifted her day-to-day work from charging and prosecuting cases to advising and representing individuals and entities in matters brought before California courts.
Throughout her career Melkonyan has maintained ties to the legal community in California. Her background in a county prosecutorial office informs the way she approaches case preparation and courtroom tactics. She has balanced the procedural rigor required by public service with the client-oriented work of a private practitioner. The result is a practice shaped by trial experience and an understanding of how local courts operate.
Colleagues describe her as methodical in courtroom preparation and steady under pressure. She favors careful review of the record and direct advocacy when a case requires voice in court. Those habits trace back to her years at the Riverside District Lawyer's Office, where heavy caseloads and frequent hearings demanded efficiency and attention to detail.
Today Melkonyan practices in California at The Law Offices of Mariya Melkonyan. She represents clients in state courts and manages the office’s litigation matters. Her current practice represents persons and entities in proceedings across California state courts.
