About Sarah
Sarah Young earned her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2011 after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Economics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002. She began her professional life outside the courtroom, a path that exposed her to the practical side of insurance and claims work before she moved into legal practice.
Her early career included a stint as a casualty claims adjuster at Nationwide Insurance in 2007. That role gave her firsthand experience with claims handling and dispute resolution. After law school she returned to private practice as a law clerk and then as an associate at Maynard & Harris, where she worked in 2012 and again in 2018. She also served as a contracts officer at Wake Forest Baptist Health in 2015 and later became director of contracting for Level 4 Orthotics and Prosthetics in 2016, roles that deepened her experience with healthcare agreements and vendor relationships.
In 2014 she joined the advisory board of Big Brothers Big Sisters Davie County, adding nonprofit governance to her résumé. She took on local leadership even earlier, serving as president of the board of directors for the Fork Volunteer Fire Department in 2012. Those volunteer roles sit alongside her positions in private practice and corporate contracting, reflecting a mix of community involvement and institutional work.
She spent time at Citrin & Whitman, PA in 2019 as a lawyer, returning to private-firm practice after her contract-management positions. At law firms she handled typical matters for small to mid-size practices, including client counseling, document drafting, and representation in disputes. In later years she established her own practice, founding the Law Office of Sarah Young, PLLC, where she operates today.
Her background touches several areas of legal work. Casualty claims handling shaped her understanding of insurance disputes. Contract roles gave her practical knowledge of health-care and vendor agreements. Her firm and earlier firm work required addressing client needs across civil disputes and transactional matters. The mix of roles gives her a practical orientation toward problem solving and client communication.
She maintains her license to practice in North Carolina and leads the Law Office of Sarah Young, PLLC. Her practice concentrates on contract work, insurance and casualty matters, and health-care related contracting issues.
