About Sarah

Sarah Schielke built a path from liberal arts college to courtroom practice. She attended Middlebury College before earning her law degree at Boston University School of Law. Those years established the foundation for a career spent largely in Colorado criminal defense circles.

Her early post-law school steps are not detailed here, but by 2010 she was active in state legal organizations. She holds long-standing memberships in the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association, both dating to 2010. In 2015 she joined the DUI Defense Lawyers Association, expanding her involvement in the community that handles impaired-driving cases and related criminal matters.

Schielke's peers have given her a series of leadership assignments. She served as Parliamentarian of the DUI Defense Lawyers Association in 2019 and as Second Vice-President in 2020. She has also taken on educational roles as a course director for several conferences. In 2017 she was a course director for the Austin DUI Defense Seminar, and in 2019 she acted as course director for the Nashville DUI Conference. That same year she coordinated programming for the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar Association's DUI conference. Since 2017 she has been a member of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar Association board.

Her association work has combined membership duties with governance and educational programming. That mix of responsibilities is often held by lawyers who spend time both trying cases and teaching other attorneys about tactics and updates in the law. Colleagues and attendees at these seminars have periodically relied on her to organize panels and moderate sessions that examine evidentiary issues, statutory changes, and procedural practice in DUI and criminal matters.

In practice she has concentrated on the kinds of cases common to the organizations she serves. Her courtroom work centers on defending clients accused of impaired driving and related criminal charges in Colorado courts. She appears before municipal and state judges and handles matters that range from pretrial motions to hearings and trials. Her public professional record emphasizes sustained engagement with DUI defense organizations and continuing legal education.

Schielke's career is marked by steady involvement in professional associations and by recurring roles in leadership and education. She practices in Colorado and focuses on DUI and criminal defense in the state.
