About Sara
Sara Priddy earned a law degree from Washburn University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in English from Texas A&M University. Her academic path combined liberal arts and legal training, and it led her to public service in Texas.
She began her legal work at the El Paso District Attorney’s Office, serving as an assistant district lawyer in 2012. That phase of her career placed her on the prosecution side of the courtroom, where she handled matters brought by the county. In 2015 she shifted roles and joined the El Paso County Public Defender’s Office as a deputy public defender. That move put her on the defense side and broadened her courtroom experience.
In 2017 Priddy took on judicial duties as an associate municipal judge for the City of El Paso. The municipal bench added a different perspective to her record. She presided over lower-level municipal matters and gained firsthand experience in judicial decision-making.
Her work in the county jail system began in 2018 when she served as a part-time jail magistrate for El Paso County. Two years later she moved into a full-time magistrate role. In those positions she handled initial appearances and other jail-related proceedings that are routine in magistrate dockets. The magistrate work kept her in close contact with the day-to-day functioning of the criminal justice system.
In 2023 Priddy launched a solo practice, operating under the name Sara E. Priddy, Lawyer at Law. The shift to private practice followed more than a decade of public-sector service. Alongside her practice she has maintained professional ties; she has been a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association since 2016.
Her career tracks through prosecution, defense, municipal judging and magistrate work. That sequence has given her familiarity with multiple roles that intersect in criminal cases. She approaches cases from that practical background rather than from theory.
She currently operates her own law office and handles matters related to criminal defense, municipal cases, and magistrate proceedings.
