About Adam
Adam Setra earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School, completing the degree in 2018 after beginning study in 2015. His time in law school exposed him to a mix of litigation coursework and clinic work. He left Minneapolis with a law degree and moved into private practice in the years that followed.
After law school, Setra built a practice centered on courtroom work and federal filings. He is admitted to the State of Texas and holds federal admissions to the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico and the Western District of Texas. In 2020 he launched Setra Law. He works out of the Setra Law Office and maintains membership in the Western District of Texas bar.
Setra’s practice involves matters that arise in both state and federal forums. He appears in district courts, prepares pleadings and motions, and handles hearings and pretrial work. His admissions to multiple federal districts allow him to take cases that cross state lines and require appearances before different federal judges. The work can be technical and procedural; he spends significant time on case preparation and courtroom advocacy.
Clients and opposing counsel describe him as straightforward in court and focused on the practical steps needed to move a case forward. He balances written advocacy with oral argument. He also manages the day-to-day operations of his firm, handling intake, client communication and litigation strategy. He participates in bar activities tied to the Western District of Texas and keeps current on federal procedure and local rules.
Colleagues say Setra is deliberate about the matters he accepts and prefers engagements that require federal practice experience. He aims to prepare cases so they are ready for whatever stage they reach, from early motions to trial. Outside the courtroom, he handles the administrative responsibilities of running a small law office and maintaining professional bar memberships.
His current practice focuses on federal and state court litigation in Texas and federal matters in New Mexico and the Western District of Texas.
