About Sara E.
Sara E. Potts keeps a steady pace in a litigation practice that has grown steadily since law school. She arrived in Oklahoma’s legal community after earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2010 and a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2014. Those academic years set the framework for a courtroom-oriented career.
She began practicing as an associate at Danny K. Shadid, P.C. in 2014. That early role put her into day-to-day litigation work quickly. In 2016 she moved to Doerner, Saunders, Daniel & Anderson, LLP as an associate and took on a broader docket. Four years later, in 2020, she became a partner at the same firm. The progression from associate to partner reflects steady advancement through responsibility for client work and case management.
Potts is admitted to practice in Oklahoma and is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Over the years she has handled matters in both state and federal courts. Her caseload has required courtroom appearances, briefing at appellate levels and routine engagement with opposing counsel. Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparing records and responsive in managing deadlines.
Outside the office she has taken on roles in several bar organizations. She serves on the board of the Oklahoma County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division and chairs a subcommittee there. She has been a member of the Ruth Bader Ginsberg Inn of Court since 2016. Her involvement with the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Women in Law Committee dates to 2015, where she also serves as a subcommittee chair. She has been an active member of the Oklahoma County Bar Association since 2014 and was a member of the Federal Bar Association from 2014 to 2016.
At Doerner, Saunders, Daniel & Anderson, LLP Potts handles litigation matters that require attention in both trial and appellate settings. Her daily work includes drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, and representing clients at hearings. She participates in internal case strategy and mentors more junior attorneys at the firm.
Her practice remains anchored in courtroom work and appellate procedure. She continues to accept matters in state and federal courts and appears before the Tenth Circuit on appeals that arise from the firm’s litigation docket.
