About Samuel Collier

Samuel Collier Wilson built a legal path that runs from finance to corporate law. He studied business before turning to law, and his career has moved steadily into corporate finance and transactional work.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business from the University of South Carolina in 2004. After several years, he went on to law school and received his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School in 2007. Those academic choices set up a practice that bridges commercial deals and regulatory concerns.

Early in his career he served as lead counsel at The SCW Firm PLLC beginning in 2008. That period established his hands-on experience guiding clients through contracts, commercial negotiations and deal documentation. He worked directly on matters that required both legal judgment and an understanding of business terms.

In 2017 he joined Salzano Ettinger Lampert & Wilson LLP as a partner in the corporate finance group. In that role he handled transactions for corporate clients, advising on financing structures and transactional documentation. He advised boards and executives on deal terms and drafted agreements central to capital and financing arrangements. His move to partnership marked a shift into larger, more complex transactions and collaborative deal teams.

In 2024 he became lead counsel at Collier Wilson Law PLLC. He maintains practice licenses in New York and Texas and applies his experience to client matters spanning those jurisdictions. His background in finance and international business informs how he approaches cross-border and multi-jurisdictional issues. He has navigated deal negotiations and contract drafting across sectors that rely on clear commercial terms and careful regulatory compliance.

Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in the courtroom of negotiation. He breaks down complicated deal points into plain language and focuses on outcomes that fit a client’s commercial needs. He tends to prefer practical solutions over theoretical debates, and he emphasizes drafting that anticipates business friction points before they become disputes.

Outside of transactional work, he has taken responsibility for structuring client representations and overseeing teams on multi-party deals. That oversight role has included mentoring junior lawyers and coordinating with outside advisors to keep transactions on schedule and aligned with client objectives.

He currently practices as lead counsel at Collier Wilson Law PLLC and handles corporate finance and transactional matters.
