About Danae
Danae Robinson is an intellectual property attorney based in Texas who practices at Pirkey Barber PLLC. She balances in-house experience and private practice. Her work crosses corporate IP management and trademark prosecution.
Robinson earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2013. She went on to study law at the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she received her J.D. in 2017 and pursued specialized coursework in intellectual property law.
While in law school she took on practical roles that shaped her early legal experience. In 2016 she worked as a legal intern at the USF Law Internet and Intellectual Property Justice Clinic. She served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Elizabeth D. Laporte at the United States District Court in 2017, gaining exposure to federal court procedures and opinion drafting. Those placements preceded her first role at Pirkey Barber, where she joined as a trademark lawyer in 2017 shortly after graduating.
Robinson’s career includes a period in-house. In 2021 she moved to Fender Musical Instruments Corporation as Senior Intellectual Property Counsel. At Fender she handled IP matters for a company known for its consumer-facing brands, giving her hands-on experience with brand management, licensing issues, and enforcement strategies. She returned to Pirkey Barber in 2022 and resumed work on trademark matters in private practice.
In 2023 Robinson expanded into academia as an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco School of Law. The role brought her back to the law school classroom, where she taught topics rooted in trademark and intellectual property practice. She also maintains active membership in the Texas State Bar, where she has been listed since 2017.
Her practice encompasses trademark prosecution, enforcement, clearance counseling, and licensing. She has represented clients on brand protection matters for both commercial manufacturers and smaller businesses. At Pirkey Barber she handles docket management, filings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and counseling clients on trademark strategy.
Robinson is licensed in Texas and currently practices at Pirkey Barber PLLC, where her work focuses on trademark prosecution, enforcement, and intellectual property counseling.
