About Samuel C.

Samuel C. Breslin took a direct route into law after finishing undergraduate work at Tufts University in 2004 and earning his J.D. from Albany Law School in 2009. He moved quickly from the classroom into practice, building experience in matters that cross state lines. Colleagues describe him as deliberate in court and thorough at the workbench.

Early in his career Breslin joined the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the Northern District of New York in 2010. That appointment placed him on a roster of lawyers who accept federal assignments on behalf of indigent defendants. He has retained that panel role while maintaining memberships in professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, which he joined in 2013.

Breslin’s work through the CJA panel has involved representation in federal criminal proceedings. Those engagements have required familiarity with federal procedure, sentencing practice and the demands of courtroom advocacy. He also maintains active ties to both Massachusetts and New York, the jurisdictions listed for his practice, and handles matters that arise under state as well as federal law.

He practices through Breslin Law Group, PLLC. The firm structure gives him a base for client work and for coordinating with experts and co-counsel when complex matters warrant it. Over the years he has combined trial work with motion practice, and he prepares appeals when necessary. Outside the courtroom he participates in continuing education and bar activities to stay current on developments in criminal law and procedure.

Peers note that Breslin is steady under pressure and methodical in preparation. He has balanced courtroom responsibilities on the CJA panel with the demands of private practice. His memberships in professional associations reflect ongoing engagement with the legal community. He currently practices through Breslin Law Group, PLLC, handling criminal defense matters in federal and state courts in Massachusetts and New York.
