About Sam P.

Sam P. Dixon earned his J.D. from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in 2011. He completed his legal education in Alabama and has practiced in the state since graduating. His academic background grounded him in both procedure and client advocacy.

After law school, Dixon entered private practice in Alabama. He joined the Alabama State Bar and built a practice that touches on both criminal and family law matters. He holds memberships in the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the National Academy of Family Law Lawyers, affiliations that reflect the areas he handles and the professional networks he maintains.

Dixon’s courtroom work has included standard criminal defense representation. He represents clients at arraignments, hearings and trials, and handles pretrial motion practice. In family law cases he appears for contested matters, handles negotiation and settlement discussions, and prepares pleadings for custody, support and asset-related disputes. He manages cases from initial intake through resolution, balancing written advocacy and in-person advocacy as the situation requires.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation and direct in client conversations. He tends to prioritize clarity for clients who are often dealing with stressful life events. Those practical habits shape how he approaches both investigative tasks and courtroom strategy. He is active in professional circles relevant to his practice areas and attends continuing legal education to stay current on evolving law and procedure.

Dixon runs Dixon Law LLC, where he handles a caseload that spans misdemeanor and felony defense as well as family court matters. The firm represents individuals at various stages of the legal process. He aims to provide straightforward counsel and to keep clients informed about options and likely outcomes.

Outside of court, Dixon participates in association activities that connect him to peers across Alabama. He keeps a working relationship with local attorneys and uses those contacts to coordinate specialists when a case requires additional expertise. He practices law in Alabama and currently centers his work on criminal defense and family law matters.
