About Sal John

He completed a Bachelor of Arts in political science, concentrating in international relations, at California State University, Chico in 2001. He then trained at the United States Army Field Artillery School as an M109A6 cannon crewmember (MOS 13B) in the mid-1990s. Sheikh earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2005.
After law school he entered practice in the Chicago area. In 2007 he worked at the Law Office of Richard S. Cohan, where he gained early experience handling client matters and learning the routines of a small firm. Two years later he established The Law Office of Salim John Sheikh. That practice, opened in 2009, is where he has built his day-to-day work and developed his professional network.
Sheikh joined the Illinois State Bar Association in 2009 and holds ongoing membership.
