About Ryan

Ryan Russman earned his undergraduate degree in political science from American University in 1992. He went on to study law at Suffolk University, entering in 1996 and receiving his J.D. in 1999. That combination of political and legal study shaped an interest in criminal procedure and trial practice early in his career.

After law school, Russman established himself in New Hampshire, where he is licensed to practice. He built a practice centered on criminal defense, taking cases that range from misdemeanor matters to complex felony prosecutions. He has focused a substantial portion of his career on DWI and impaired-driving cases, work that led to board certification in DWI Defense Law from the National College of DUI Defense.

Russman joined professional organizations shortly after beginning practice. He has been a member of the National College for DUI Defense since 1999. He also holds continuous memberships in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Trial Lawyers Association, both since 1999. Those affiliations reflect sustained engagement with trial advocacy and developments in DUI defense and criminal law.

In the courtroom, Russman is known for preparing cases thoroughly. He routinely examines evidence, consults experts in toxicology and accident reconstruction, and challenges procedures used by law enforcement. His certification from the National College for DUI Defense signals a particular emphasis on technical issues that arise in impaired-driving prosecutions, including chemical testing and field sobriety protocols.

Outside trial work, Russman has spent time educating peers and clients on changes in law and procedure. He has participated in professional seminars and continuing legal education programs offered through his national associations. Those events have addressed evolving scientific and legal questions that affect DUI prosecutions and criminal defense strategy.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in trial preparation and clear in courtroom presentation. He balances detailed technical work—reviewing lab reports and police records—with the practical demands of pleading negotiations and jury trials. That combination is a feature of many criminal defense practices, and it shapes the way he approaches each file.

Russman continues to practice in New Hampshire. He represents individuals charged with a range of criminal offenses and maintains an active practice that includes DWI defense, other traffic-related criminal matters, and general criminal defense work.
