About Ryan

Ryan Rambudhan built his legal path on two early choices: study and courtroom exposure. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Philosophy at the City University of New York’s John Jay College in 2009 after beginning his undergraduate work in 2005. He then enrolled at The George Washington University Law School, finishing his J.D. in 2013 following studies that began in 2010.

While still a student, Rambudhan sought practical experience in public and judicial offices. In 2011 he worked as a judicial intern for the Hon. Francis Ricigliano in the New York State Unified Court System. The next year he served as a district court intern with the Nassau County District Lawyer and also acted as a law student advocate at Bloomberg Law. Those roles exposed him to both courtroom procedures and the sorts of legal research that shape litigation strategy.

Rambudhan moved quickly into private practice after law school. In 2014 he became a partner at Nova Defenders, S&R Law Office, PLLC. He has practiced in Virginia and built a practice that reflects his earlier training in criminal justice and courtroom work. His background in both prosecution-side and defense-side environments informed how he approaches client representation.

Teaching returned him to his alma mater. In 2016 he accepted a position as a professorial lecturer in law at The George Washington University Law School. He has taught law students and worked with them on the practical skills needed for litigation and client counseling. That classroom work runs alongside his caseload and keeps him engaged with new generations of lawyers.

Rambudhan is active in professional groups tied to criminal practice. He holds membership in the Fairfax Bar Association, the Virginia Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the National College of DUI Defense, reflecting an interest in the technical and procedural aspects of impaired-driving cases.

Colleagues describe him as steady in court and methodical in preparation. He draws on early courtroom internships and years in practice to handle hearings, motions, and trial work. He works primarily out of Nova Defenders, S&R Law Office, PLLC and handles matters arising in Virginia state courts. He currently concentrates his practice on criminal defense and DUI defense in Virginia.
