About Ryan
Ryan Kreck is a Texas lawyer whose work centers on criminal defense. He built his academic foundation at Baylor University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, and completed his legal training at South Texas College of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2005. Those years set the stage for a practice anchored in litigation and courtroom work.
After law school he entered private practice and over time gravitated toward criminal law. In 2013 he joined Loughmiller Higgins as an associate, a role that placed him in the daily grind of case preparation, client interviews and courtroom appearances. A year later he moved to Rosenthal, Kalabus & Therrian and became a partner in 2014. That move marked a transition to leadership responsibilities alongside ongoing litigation work.
Kreck’s credentials include board certification in criminal law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Board certification signals that a lawyer has met particular standards set by the state for experience and knowledge in a practice area. He is also active in professional groups. He has been a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association since 2010 and joined the McKinney Bar Association in 2017.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing a case. He spends time on motions and discovery, and he tries cases when the facts and law point in that direction. His practice involves representing clients in a range of criminal matters in Texas courts, from pretrial hearings to jury trials. He handles the procedural work that underpins effective representation, alongside direct advocacy at trial.
Kreck’s record of practice includes courtroom appearances and client counseling. He maintains ties to the local bar and to statewide defense organizations, which keeps him plugged into developments in criminal procedure and trial strategy. He has practiced in Texas throughout his career and maintains his office at Rosenthal, Kalabus & Therrian.
He continues to represent people accused of crimes in Texas courts, handling case preparation, hearings and trials as part of his current practice focus.
