About Ryan Kent
Ryan Kent McComber built his legal pathway through two regional universities and a steady climb into federal practice. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oklahoma in 2000 and a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University in 2003. Those degrees set the stage for a career spent largely in Texas courts.
After law school he joined the State Bar of Texas in 2003 and has maintained that membership ever since. Court admission records show he is licensed in Texas and admitted to multiple federal courts, including the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, as well as the bankruptcy courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas and the Southern District of Texas. That range of admissions allows him to handle matters that move between district and bankruptcy forums.
McComber became a partner at Figari & Davenport, LLP in 2013. The partnership followed years of practice in state and federal venues. At Figari & Davenport he works alongside other lawyers who regularly appear in bankruptcy and district court proceedings. His name has been listed among the firm’s partners for more than a decade.
Throughout his career he has focused on courtroom work and case management. He files and defends pleadings in federal district courts and in bankruptcy courtrooms. He has experience seeing disputes through motion practice, contested hearings and related proceedings that often cross state and federal lines.
Colleagues describe him as someone who handles complex procedural questions and the logistics of multi-court litigation. He routinely coordinates filings across several district and bankruptcy courts. That coordination can involve scheduling, discovery disputes and contested matters that require careful attention to differing local rules.
Outside of court appearances, McComber’s professional record shows ongoing involvement in the State Bar of Texas. He has kept his license and court admissions current. He also maintains a full-time role at Figari & Davenport and participates in the firm’s handling of matters that arise in the Texas federal and bankruptcy systems.
He currently practices as a partner at Figari & Davenport, LLP and focuses on litigation and proceedings in Texas state, federal and bankruptcy courts.
