About Ryan Gordon
Ryan Gordon Blanch built his legal foundation at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated with honors in English in 1995. He moved to Southern Methodist University for law school and earned his J.D. in 1999. While at SMU he served on the Law Review and received the school's Outstanding Service Award. Those early academic experiences framed a career that would move quickly from associate work to firm leadership.
His first professional role after law school was at Andrews Kurth in 1999, where he practised as a lawyer. Five years later he founded The Blanch Law Office in 2004 and has served as its managing partner since then. Establishing a firm required shifting from the staffing structure of a larger firm to the responsibilities of running an independent practice. He has overseen the firm's operations and the development of its caseload while maintaining an active role on litigation matters.
Blanch is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He maintains memberships in several local and regional bar organizations. His affiliations include the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the New York County Lawyers Association and the New York Defenders Society. He is also a member of the New York County Bar Association, a connection that dates to 2004 and continues today. These memberships reflect ongoing engagement with the legal community in New York.
Colleagues describe his career as one of steady progression from large-firm practice to leading a smaller, client-facing office. He runs The Blanch Law Office and continues to handle matters that arise in New York courts and before the Second Circuit. He divides his time between managing the firm and addressing the substantive legal work brought by clients. He handles litigation and appellate filings in state and federal venues and directs the office’s case strategy and court submissions. He practices in New York and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
