About Ryan
Ryan Dorn built his path to the Arizona bar through steady, practical work and a series of early roles that moved him into courtroom and client-facing work. He completed his undergraduate studies at Mount Union College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in pre-law studies in 2012. He then earned a Juris Doctor from Arizona Summit Law School in 2016. Those years framed his transition from student to practicing attorney.
After law school Dorn began as a senior law clerk at the Law Office of James R. Vaughan in 2016. The position put him in the thick of case preparation. He handled legal research, drafted pleadings and assisted in trial preparation. In 2017 he took on the title of lawyer at the same firm, Law Office of James R. Vaughan, P.C., where he assumed greater responsibility for client contact and case strategy. The next year he joined My AZ Lawyers as an associate lawyer. That move shifted him into a broader practice environment and a different pace of client intake and litigation management.
Colleagues describe Dorn as pragmatic. He approaches matters by breaking them down into manageable steps. He moves methodically through factual investigation and procedural requirements. He has experience on both sides of case preparation: drafting motions, managing discovery and coordinating with experts. He has also spent significant time in client counsel roles, explaining options and procedural timelines.
Dorn maintains an active membership in the Arizona State Bar. He is licensed to practice in Arizona. His work has centered on handling individual client matters and supporting litigation where it is necessary. He is comfortable in the paperwork and court filings that accompany contested matters, and he has spent time meeting clients at intake and at various stages of their cases.
Outside the office Dorn’s background in pre-law and his law school training inform how he organizes files and plans case tactics. The arc of his career — law clerk to firm lawyer to associate — reflects practical learning on the job. He has steadily taken on more complex assignments while remaining grounded in day-to-day legal tasks.
He currently practices as an associate at My AZ Lawyers, handling client representation and case work in Arizona.
