About Russell Ray

Russell Ray Hatten earned his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1986. He went on to secure licenses to practice in both Colorado and Texas. Early in his career he moved between courtrooms and conference rooms, learning to balance litigation pressures with the practical demands of client counseling.

Over the years Hatten has handled a broad array of matters for clients who operate in more than one state. He has maintained involvement in professional associations since 1986, attending continuing education programs and participating in forums that address evolving state law. That long view has shaped how he approaches legal problems. He tends to break complex issues into tangible steps and to set clear expectations with clients.

Hatten is in practice at Chalat Hatten Banker PC. At the firm he works alongside colleagues who handle matters in both transactional and contentious settings. His work requires coordinating filings, deadlines and strategy across jurisdictions, and he draws on his dual licensure when cases or deals touch both Colorado and Texas law. Colleagues describe him as steady in court and methodical in preparation.

Outside of specific matters, Hatten has kept up with shifts in state rules and courtroom procedures. He has been present at seminars and panels that address regulatory change and court practice. He has also advised clients on procedural choices that affect timing and costs. His practice reflects a practical orientation rather than theoretical abstraction. He focuses on resolving the immediate problem while keeping longer-term consequences in view.

He currently practices law for clients in Colorado and Texas.
