About Ruben

Ruben Montoya began his academic path in political science at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he completed a B.A. in 2006. He went on to study law at Trinity Law School and earned his Juris Doctor in 2011. Those years set the foundation for a practice that combines case work and firm management.

Early in his career Montoya took on roles that involved both client-facing work and administrative responsibility. He served as managing attorney at the Law Offices of William Green, a position that put him in charge of supervising other attorneys and coordinating case strategies. The managing role required routine decision-making about staffing, client intake and litigation priorities. Colleagues and former clients describe him as practical and steady under pressure.

Montoya's practical experience in a management role informs how he approaches legal problems. He has handled matters through each stage of a case — intake, investigation, negotiation and, where necessary, court filings. He is experienced at guiding files from initial consultation to resolution. That breadth gives him a working familiarity with the demands of running a law office as well as representing clients.

In 2026 he practices at Montoya Law, a small office that handles a range of client matters. He maintains current professional memberships that connect him to other lawyers and to continuing legal education opportunities. Those ties help him stay current on procedural developments and the evolving body of case law that affects everyday practice.

Montoya's work is characterized by steady case management and an emphasis on clear client communication. He tends to structure files so clients understand timelines, likely outcomes and costs. That approach reflects his years overseeing a law office and supervising casework. He aims for practical results rather than headline-grabbing litigation.

Outside the office he spends time considering firm operations and the systems that keep a practice running. He has applied lessons from his managing-attorney experience to how Montoya Law organizes client intake, assigns matters and tracks deadlines. He currently practices at Montoya Law, where he manages client matters and oversees the firm's day-to-day operations.
