About Michael

Michael Berry began his legal path in Southern California. He earned a B.A. from the University of Southern California in 2011 and completed his J.D. at Chapman University Fowler School of Law in 2014. He is licensed to practice in California and built his early career in firms that handle employment and civil litigation.

Fresh out of law school he joined Callahan, Thompson, Sherman & Caudill, LLP as an associate in 2015. He moved to Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo in 2017, where he broadened his litigation experience. In 2018 he worked as an employee rights lawyer for Stevens & McMillan Employment Law, a role that deepened his work on behalf of workers. In 2020 he founded MJB Law Group, APC and has led the firm since then.

Berry’s resume maps a steady shift from associate roles to running his own practice. The transition to founding a firm marked a change in responsibilities. He now oversees case strategy, client intake and courtroom preparation while continuing to handle litigation himself. His time at several mid-size California firms provided a range of courtroom and pretrial experience. The employee rights position prior to starting his firm exposed him to day-to-day client counseling and employment disputes.

Professional memberships reflect the areas of law he works in. He has belonged to the California Employment Lawyers Association since 2017 and joined the Consumer Lawyers Association of Los Angeles the same year. Since 2021 he has served on the board of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association. Those affiliations connect him to trial practitioners and to lawyers who represent employees and consumers.

In practice, Berry represents individuals in workplace and consumer matters. He handles litigation, prepares pleadings and motions, conducts discovery, and appears at hearings. He works on disputes for employees and for consumers, pursuing claims through settlement or trial when appropriate. Colleagues and clients note that his background includes both trial work and negotiated resolutions, drawn from his years in firm settings and as a founding attorney.

At MJB Law Group, APC, he manages the office and directs client matters while continuing to take on courtroom work. He maintains an active practice representing employees and consumers at MJB Law Group, APC.
