About Ross

Ross Grisham earned his J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 1995. He completed law school in the mid-1990s, entering the Georgia legal community shortly thereafter. His early training combined courtroom observation and hands-on legal research. That foundation informed the choices he made in the first years of practice.

In 1998 he served as a law clerk in the Appalachian Judicial Circuit. That position placed him close to trial calendars and motion practice. It also gave him direct exposure to judges and the daily mechanics of the trial courts.

The following year he moved into prosecutorial roles in Cherokee County. In 1999 he was listed as an Assistant District Lawyer in the Cherokee County Office of the District Lawyer and, in the same year, as an Assistant Solicitor General in the Cherokee County Office of the Solicitor General. Those assignments meant regular courtroom appearances on behalf of the state and involvement in plea negotiations, hearings, and jury trials.

By 2005 Grisham had joined the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has maintained that membership through the present. The combination of early prosecutorial work and later association with criminal defense lawyers gives him experience on both sides of criminal litigation.

Colleagues describe his courtroom work as straightforward and practical. He has handled initial appearances, pretrial motions, and contested hearings. His time as a prosecutor taught him how cases are built and how evidence is presented. His later work in defense has required translating that knowledge into strategies aimed at protecting clients’ interests.

Outside the courtroom he has continued to follow developments in Georgia criminal law. He has attended professional meetings and kept up with changes in procedure and case law. That steady attention shapes how he prepares for hearings and trials.

He remains active in the Georgia criminal law community and works in Georgia courts. His current practice concentrates on criminal defense matters in the state of Georgia.
