About Ronald F.
Ronald F. Eich began his academic path at Creighton University, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in 1964. He went on to earn a Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law. Those years laid the groundwork for a long career in the courts of the Midwest.
After law school, Eich entered practice in Iowa. Over time he secured admission to multiple federal jurisdictions, including the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. He also holds admission to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials allowed him to handle matters that touch both state and federal law.
Eich’s career spans many years of courtroom work and case preparation. He developed experience managing procedural and substantive aspects of litigation. He has spent long hours drafting pleadings, preparing briefs and arguing before judges. The work required attention to detail and a steady approach to deadlines and court rules.
Colleagues and judges have come to expect careful written work and precise oral advocacy. Eich learned to match legal theory to practical steps in a case. He balanced time in the office with time in court. That balance kept litigation moving and clients informed about next steps.
Holding admission to the U.S. Supreme Court gives Eich a particular procedural standing. It allows him to undertake federal filings and to pursue matters that may require briefing at higher levels of the judiciary. Likewise, his admissions in the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa permit him to litigate in federal trial courts when cases fall under federal jurisdiction.
Outside of appearances, Eich has been involved in the everyday tasks that sustain a law practice: client conferences, discovery management and motion work. He has worked on cases that required coordination among multiple parties and attention to evolving court procedures. He prefers to resolve disputes where possible, but he prepares thoroughly for trial when settlement is not an option.
Now practicing in Iowa, Eich maintains a caseload that spans state and federal matters, drawing on his admissions to the Iowa bar, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa and the U.S. Supreme Court for matters that arise in those forums.
