About Roman

Roman Amaguin built his legal foundations at two well-known universities. He earned a B.A. in History from the University of California, Berkeley in 1982. A decade later he returned to school and received his J.D. from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa William S. Richardson School of Law in 1992.

His early career developed in firm settings. Records show he joined Torkildson Katz in 1995 as a lawyer and later served in a partner or director role. That period gave him experience inside an established Honolulu firm and exposed him to the practical demands of private practice.

In 2008 he took on an of-counsel role at Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing. That position placed him alongside attorneys at a larger firm and let him advise on matters brought by firm clients. Two years later he left that arrangement and set up his own office.

Since 2010 he has been principal of the Law Office of Roman Amaguin. Running his own practice changed the day-to-day work. He oversees case strategy, client meetings, and the administrative side of a small firm. His office operates under the jurisdiction of the State of Hawaii, where he has maintained bar membership since 1996.

His career shows steady movement between partnership roles in established firms and running a solo practice. He has experience acting as counsel to firms and as the lead attorney for clients. Colleagues describe him as methodical and pragmatic in handling client matters, and his professional path suggests familiarity with the procedural and substantive tasks that accompany litigation and transactional work in state courts.

Today he continues to practice in Hawaii. He represents clients from his office and provides counsel on a range of state-law matters. He maintains his Hawaii bar membership and keeps an active private practice serving individuals and local businesses.
