About Robert W.

Robert W. Pearce began his academic path in science and business before turning to law. He earned a B.S. from Florida Tech in 1973 and then completed both a J.D. and an M.B.A. at Hofstra University in 1979. Those combined credentials gave him a mix of technical, business and legal training early in his career.

He entered public service soon after law school, joining the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in 1980. That role placed him inside federal securities enforcement during a formative period for capital markets regulation. He moved into private practice in the early 1980s, taking a treasurer role at Lerner, Harris, Pearce, P.A. in 1983 and later serving as vice-president of Lerner & Pearce, P.A. in 1990. In 2000 he opened his own firm, the Law Offices of Robert Wayne Pearce, where he has served as principal since then.

Pearce is licensed in both New York and Florida. He is admitted to practice before several federal courts, including the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Northern, Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. His appellate admissions include the Second and Eleventh Circuits. Those credentials reflect a practice that crosses state and federal lines.

His professional activities reflect interests in securities enforcement, arbitration and civil dispute resolution. Early work at the SEC gave him familiarity with enforcement processes. Membership in the Public Investor Arbitration Bar Association and multiple county justice associations points to regular work in investor arbitration and civil litigation. He is also a Florida Circuit Court civil mediator, certified through the Florida State Court Dispute Resolution Center, and he appears in court and mediation settings in several Florida counties.

Pearce participates in a number of bar and trial organizations. He holds memberships in the American Association for Justice, the Florida Justice Association, and county bar and justice associations across Broward and Palm Beach counties, among others. Those group affiliations indicate ongoing involvement in local and statewide legal communities.

Over a career spanning decades, Pearce has blended regulatory experience, private firm practice and alternative dispute resolution. He currently practices from the Law Offices of Robert Wayne Pearce, where he handles investor arbitration, securities-related matters, civil litigation and mediation.
