About Robert

Robert Ughetta completed his undergraduate studies at Princeton University, graduating in 1989. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Albany Law School of Union University in 1993. Those years laid a steady foundation in legal study and analysis, and they preceded a career in private practice that would span decades.

After law school, Ughetta entered private practice and built experience in the firm setting. Over time he took on greater responsibility and moved into leadership roles. He joined Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, where he advanced to partner. The move reflected a long-term trajectory inside large-firm practice.

As a partner at Cadwalader, Ughetta participates in the firm’s work for clients across a range of matters. His role requires coordinating teams, advising clients on complex issues and managing both the legal and practical aspects of significant engagements. He works alongside other partners and associates, directing strategy and overseeing execution on matters the firm handles.

Colleagues describe his approach as steady and practical. He spends time mentoring junior lawyers and collaborating with other departments to align legal work with client needs. He has been involved in the development of internal practice resources, and he contributes to the management of cases and transactions by guiding less experienced lawyers through procedural and substantive tasks.

Outside the office Ughetta’s background in liberal arts and law informs how he frames arguments and analyzes problems. He brings that perspective into client meetings and internal deliberations. As of 2026 he practices at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, where his work focuses on representing clients through the firm’s services.
