Robert S. Williams is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1976. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Williams is the principal attorney at Williams & Williams, Inc., a law firm located in Bakersfield, California. He has been practicing law for over 50 years, serving clients throughout Kern County and the surrounding areas.
Mr. Williams earned his Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1976. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at California State University, Bakersfield, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Public Administration in 1973. During his time at Santa Clara University, he developed a strong foundation in legal principles that have guided his extensive legal career.
Mr. Williams concentrates his practice in the areas of bankruptcy law, estate planning, and probate. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings, debt relief, foreclosure defense, and the creation of wills and trusts. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Williams has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Kern, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of California. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Bakersfield for several years.
Mr. Williams is an active member of the Kern County Bar Association and the Central California Bankruptcy Association. He holds membership in the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. He is also a certified specialist in bankruptcy law through the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, a designation he has held since 1995. Mr. Williams is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Kern County effectively.
