About Robert Kenneth
Robert Kenneth Olson is a litigation attorney based in Kealakekua, Hawaii, specializing in many legal areas including personal injury, DUI & DWI, divorce, probate, real estate law, and landlord-tenant disputes. A member of the Hawaii State Bar Association, Robert brings extensive legal knowledge and practical experience to his practice. Born and raised in Kona, Robert graduated from Hawaii Preparatory Academy in 1995. During his time there, he was not only a dedicated student but also an active athlete, serving as captain of both the track and cross-country teams, as well as participating in basketball. His leadership and teamwork skills were further honed during these formative years. In 1999, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brandeis University, where he continued to excel in athletics, achieving All-American status in cross-country and serving as team captain.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Robert pursued a legal education at Western New England College of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor in 2002. Following law school, he worked by clerking for Judge Glenn S. Hara in the Third Circuit Court in Hilo. This position provided him with insights into judicial processes and developed his legal research and writing skills. From 2005 to 2010, Robert served as a Deputy Public Defender on Maui and Oahu, where he gained hands-on experience in both jury and bench trials. His contributions to appellate decisions in notable cases such as State v. Bayly, State v — Bonds, State v.
Eddington, and State v. Brown are evidence of his legal acumen and dedication to justice. In 2010, Robert joined Olson & Sons, a law firm founded by his father, John L — Olson, in Kealakekua and Kamuela. The firm offers a comprehensive array of legal services, including litigation, real estate, land use, personal injury, construction law, business law, estate planning, and family law. Robert's role in the firm allows him to leverage his diverse legal background while continuing the family legacy of providing quality legal representation in the community.
