About Robert
Robert Katz is a seasoned personal injury attorney based in Bethesda, Maryland, with over four decades of experience in the field. He is admitted to practice in both Maryland and the District of Columbia. His primary focus is on personal injury cases, but his expertise also extends to medical malpractice, immigration law, and insurance claims. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association. Mr. Katz earned his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 1973. He began his legal career as a trial attorney for the Federal Aviation Administration's Office of Chief Counsel from 1973 to 1974, handling air safety matters.
From 1974 to 1976, he served as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Division, Torts Section, where he received annual merit awards for his success in defending complex wrongful death cases. He later became Counsel to The Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Maryland, managing personal injury defense litigation. In 1982, Mr. Katz joined Gordon Feinblatt LLC, where he chaired the firm's Personal Injury Group. His practice includes various areas of tort litigation, including auto accidents, premises liability, products liability, toxic torts, air crash accidents, railroad accidents, maritime and admiralty injury claims, and workers' compensation. He has been recognized with an AV Preeminent™ rating in Martindale-Hubbell® and was named a "Top 100 Trial Lawyer" by the National Trial Lawyers in 2014.
In 2016, he founded Bob Katz Law, a firm dedicated to representing accident victims. The firm operates offices in Bethesda, Maryland; Baltimore, Maryland; and Fairfax, Virginia. Under his leadership, the firm has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for clients over the past three decades. The Bethesda office is located at 6701 Democracy Blvd, Suite 300, Bethesda, MD 20817. Mr. Katz is actively involved in the legal community. He has served on the Maryland State Bar Association Committees on Medical-Legal Issues and Workers' Compensation, and the Products Liability Subcommittee of the Baltimore City Bar Association.
He is a sustaining member of the American Association for Justice and has been part of the Eagles Club at the Maryland Association for Justice since 2003. He has co-authored a chapter titled "How to Handle an Indoor Air Pollution Case" in A Guide to Toxic Torts by Matthew Bender & Co.
