About Robert G.
Robert G. Harris is an attorney whose career has been rooted in California courts and federal district courts across the state. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley in 1983 and completed his Juris Doctor at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco in 1986. Those academic years set the stage for a long practice in litigation and court work.
After law school, Harris built a practice that led him into federal litigation and state-level work. He is admitted to practice in California and before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. His federal admissions include the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, Central and Northern Districts of California. Those credentials have allowed him to handle matters that move between state and federal forums.
Harris joined Binder & Malter LLP and became a partner in 1993. He has spent decades at the firm, serving clients through the procedural and substantive demands of civil litigation. At Binder & Malter, he has worked on cases that require filings in multiple districts and in appellate court when cases proceed beyond the trial level.
Colleagues describe him as steady in the courtroom and thorough in preparation. He maintains current membership in The State Bar of California. That standing supports his active practice across the various courts where he is admitted to appear.
Over the years, Harris has handled matters in venues ranging from trial calendars in the federal districts to briefs filed at the appellate level. He is experienced in responding to jurisdictional and procedural challenges that arise when litigation spans different courts. His practice reflects years of courtroom experience and familiarity with the rules and expectations of both state and federal judges in California.
Today Harris continues at Binder & Malter LLP, where he represents clients in matters before California state courts, the Ninth Circuit, and multiple federal district courts in the state. His current practice focuses on litigation in both state and federal courts across California.
