About Robert E

Robert E Gordon earned his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Missouri–Kansas City in 2006 and completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law in 2009. He stayed close to the city where he was educated, building a practice rooted in Missouri law. His academic background provides a steady base for both courtroom work and classroom instruction.

Early in his career he became active in local bar associations. He has been a member of the Eastern Jackson County Bar Association and the Clay County Bar Association since 2011. Those memberships led to deeper involvement in the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, where he served as Secretary of the Domestic Law Committee from 2014 to 2015 and as Co-Vice Chair from 2015 to 2016. In 2016 he stepped into the role of Co-Chair of that same committee and continues in that position. The committee work has involved organizing meetings, contributing to internal education, and helping steer discussions on procedural and substantive issues affecting family law practitioners.

In 2015 he returned to the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law as an adjunct professor. His time teaching added an academic dimension to his practice. It also allowed him to engage directly with law students on the practical aspects of domestic law. Students who took his course saw the practical side of case management and client counseling alongside the statutory framework.

Those who have watched his career note a steady focus on domestic relations matters. His leadership roles within the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association’s Domestic Law Committee reflect a specialty in family law. He has balanced committee obligations with private practice work, handling matters that commonly arise in divorce, custody, and related proceedings.

Colleagues describe him as a practitioner who prefers direct, practical solutions. He has chosen to remain active in regional legal organizations, a decision that keeps him connected to the procedural changes and professional conversations shaping family law in the area. That engagement also influences how he advises clients and prepares cases.

He currently maintains an active practice in Missouri and concentrates on family and domestic relations matters.
