About Robert D
Robert D Finkle arrived at law after a liberal arts undergraduate education that combined anthropology and business management. He earned a B.A. from George Mason University in 2000. That mix of disciplines informed his approach to problem solving before he went on to law school. He completed his J.D. at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2006 and entered legal practice soon afterward.
After law school, Finkle established a practice in California. He is admitted to practice in California and is also admitted to the Ninth Circuit. Those admissions allow him to work in both state and federal settings and to handle appellate matters when they arise. Over the years he has worked in matters that take him into courtroom proceedings and appellate filings.
His work involves litigation and appeals in the courts where he is licensed. He handles pleadings, motion practice and briefing in state court and federal matters. His Ninth Circuit admission lets him file appellate briefs and appear in that court when cases reach the federal appellate level. The combination of state and federal practice shapes how he assesses risk and structures litigation strategies.
Finkle’s educational background in anthropology and business management informs how he evaluates fact patterns and client goals. That training can surface different angles on evidence and organizational behavior. He uses that perspective when preparing cases, drafting arguments and communicating complexities to clients and judges.
Clients and colleagues describe him as methodical and practical in his legal work. He tends to emphasize clear writing and thorough preparation. He aims for concise briefs, careful procedural handling and attention to deadlines. In appellate settings he focuses on crafting legal arguments that fit the record and the standard of review.
He maintains an active practice in California, handling matters that require appearances in state courts, federal district courts and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He currently maintains a practice handling matters in California state and federal courts and before the Ninth Circuit.
