About Robert D.
Robert D. Curran built a career that crosses the courthouse and the private office. He studied at Georgetown University, earning a B.S. in 1984, and later attended Georgetown University Law Center where he received his J.D.
His professional life began in 1987 when he joined Olwine, Connelly, Chase, O Donnell & Weyher as a lawyer. That role was his entry into firm practice and courtroom work. Three years later he moved into a family-run practice as a partner at Curran & Curran, a position that placed him squarely in charge of client matters and firm management.
In 1997 he took the bench in Paramus Municipal Court. Serving as a municipal judge added a different perspective to his legal outlook. The courtroom role required quick rulings, careful handling of municipal dockets and an understanding of local ordinances. It also gave him firsthand experience of the pressures judges face when balancing public duties with legal procedure.
In 2002 he launched his own firm, Curran Law Office LLC. As owner he built a private practice that draws on decades of work in both firms and on the bench. Running a small firm meant shifting between client counseling, case preparation and courtroom appearances. It also meant overseeing the business side of a law office while handling substantive legal tasks.
Across these roles he has accumulated experience in litigation and municipal matters. His résumé reflects steady movement between advocacy and adjudication. He has worked inside larger firm structures, in a partnership setting, and as a municipal judge. Each role contributed different skills: litigation practice sharpened courtroom technique; the judgeship added perspective on case management and local law.
Colleagues and clients who have encountered him in court or in offices see a lawyer who understands both sides of the bar. He has kept his practice small enough to handle hands-on work, while maintaining the institutional memory that comes from years in practice. He currently heads Curran Law Office LLC and concentrates on matters that reflect his municipal court and litigation background.
