About Robert B. Landry
Robert B. Landry III completed his undergraduate studies at Tulane University, earning a B.A. in 1985. He stayed in Louisiana for law school and received his J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1988. Those years set the stage for a career spent largely in private practice and courtroom work.
He began his legal career at Chaffe McCall in New Orleans, joining the firm as an associate in 1988 after law school. He rose to partner in 1994, spending the better part of a decade there during a period of steady professional advancement. The timeline reflects an early commitment to building a practice within an established regional firm.
In 2002 he left the partnership model and opened his own firm, Robert B. Landry III, PLC. Running a solo practice and then a small firm changed the nature of his day-to-day work. It meant more direct client contact and responsibility for the business side of practice as well as for litigation and case management.
Landry is admitted to practice in Louisiana and in several federal venues. His admissions include the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Those credentials allow him to represent clients in state and federal matters and to take appeals to the circuit level when necessary. Over the years he has managed cases that moved between trial courts and appellate review, giving him experience in both forums.
His career path — from Tulane and LSU to associate and partner at a New Orleans firm, and then to founding his own practice — maps onto more than three decades of continuous practice. He has handled matters in Louisiana courts and in the federal courts to which he holds admission. He maintains a private practice through Robert B. Landry III, PLC, handling matters in Louisiana and in the federal courts to which he is admitted.
