About Rob

Rob Kohen built his academic foundation at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning a Bachelor of Science in 2007. He returned to Illinois for law school, receiving his J.D. from Chicago‑Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2014. Those years in school framed a path toward trial work and courtroom practice.

Fresh out of law school, Kohen joined Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. as an associate in 2014. He spent the next several years taking on litigation tasks, preparing cases for trial and working in partnership with more senior attorneys at the firm. Over time he assumed greater responsibility on cases, handled depositions, and argued pretrial motions.

In 2023 Kohen became a partner at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. The promotion marked a clear step in his professional progression. It also formalized a role he had been building since his arrival: leading litigation teams, mentoring junior lawyers and directing case strategy. His practice includes matters that proceed to trial, and he is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Outside of day-to-day casework, Kohen maintains memberships in several professional organizations. He is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice and the Chicago Bar Association. Those affiliations keep him connected to developments in trial practice, civil procedure and evidence law, and they offer forums for continuing legal education and peer discussion.

Colleagues describe Kohen as an attorney who prefers direct courtroom engagement and practical problem solving. He has taken depositions, argued motions and prepared trial exhibits. He also works on case evaluation and settlement negotiations, balancing trial preparation with opportunities to resolve matters when it serves clients’ interests.

Kohen’s career arc — from undergraduate degree in 2007 to law degree in 2014, then associate and now partner — tracks a steady trajectory within a single litigation-focused firm. He practices at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., where his work centers on trial litigation and civil cases.
