About Rick J.
Rick J. Houghton pursued a practical path to law that began with a technical and business undergraduate degree and moved into two different law schools. He earned a B.S. in Marketing and Management from Michigan Technological University in 2005. He later completed a J.D. at the University of Minnesota Law School in 2009 and also spent time at Willamette University College of Law during his legal studies.
After law school, Houghton entered private practice and has worked steadily at firms that handle injury and automobile matters. He joined TSR Injury Law in 2012 as an attorney. That role put him in the trenches of firm practice early in his career. In 2018 he moved to Michigan Auto Law, where he continued to work on claims and litigation tied to vehicle-related incidents and client advocacy.
Houghton’s career shows consistent engagement with civil litigation and client-facing work. His experiences at firms whose names signal a concentration on injury and auto cases gave him repeated exposure to procedural work, negotiations, and courtroom practice.
