About Richard

Richard Klein built his legal foundation at Missouri State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1992. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa in 1995. Those early academic years set a steady course for a career spent practicing in the Midwest.

After law school, Klein entered private practice and established himself in both Illinois and Missouri. He is licensed to practice in those two jurisdictions. Over time he developed familiarity with the differing procedural rules and court cultures that shape civil practice on each side of the Mississippi.

Klein’s work has covered a range of matters that occur in state courts and in transactional settings. He has handled cases that required courtroom presence as well as matters resolved through negotiation and settlement. Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in the way he evaluates risk and practical in the way he advises clients about next steps.

He joined Ochs & Klein Lawyers, P.C., where he continues to practice. At the firm he takes calls from businesses and individuals who need help resolving disputes or structuring agreements that will withstand state legal scrutiny. The office environment there is described by peers as one that supports practical problem solving and steady attention to deadlines.

Outside of client work, Klein remains connected to the legal communities in Illinois and Missouri. He maintains active membership in professional groups relevant to state practice. That engagement has kept him aware of changes to court rules and local procedures that can affect case strategy.

Over three decades since graduating law school, Klein has sustained a steady practice focused on matters rooted in state law. He combines courtroom experience with transactional work and adapts his approach to the needs of individual clients and small business owners. He practices law at Ochs & Klein Lawyers, P.C., handling matters that arise in Illinois and Missouri.
