About Richard C.
Richard C. Bell earned his B.A. in history from Duke University in 1978 and took his legal degree at Rutgers School of Law–Newark, graduating with a J.D. in 1981. Those classroom years framed his interest in the practical side of law. He left school prepared for the courtroom and the counsel chamber alike.
After law school he moved into private practice. In 1986 he opened his own firm, the Law Offices of Richard C. Bell, and has maintained it since. Running a solo practice required balancing case work, client intake and the daily management tasks that keep a small law office functioning. He has spent decades managing that mix.
Bell is licensed to practice in both New Jersey and New York. Those dual jurisdictions have shaped how he approaches clients and cases. Working across state lines means adapting to two sets of rules and two court calendars, and his practice reflects that reality.
He holds memberships in the New York State Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers’ Association. Membership in those organizations has given him continuing access to legal education and local professional networks. He has used those resources to stay current on developments that affect practitioners in the region.
His practice is anchored by two offices. He maintains a main office and a Queens office, serving clients who come to those locations for consultations and hearings. Over the years he has balanced in-person meetings with the administrative and procedural work that supports case preparation.
