Throughout his career, Alexander has been actively involved in DUI law, attending numerous seminars and serving as a featured speaker in Tampa and Palm Beach. He has also published articles in criminal and civil law. In addition to his legal practice, Alexander has been a professor at the University of Phoenix since 2001, teaching courses in law, political science, humanities, history, and criminal justice.

In 2014, he was awarded Faculty of the Year. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Everglades University, teaching construction law, contracts, and ethics.
