Richard Alexander is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1971. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Alexander is the Managing Partner at Alexander Law Group, LLP, a law firm located at 99 Almaden Blvd., Suite 700, San Jose, California 95113. He has been practicing law for over 55 years, serving clients throughout the San Jose area and Northern California.
Mr. Alexander earned his Juris Doctor degree from The University of Chicago Law School in 1969, where he was awarded a full-tuition National Honor Scholarship. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Ohio Wesleyan University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1966. During his time at Ohio Wesleyan, he was a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society.
Mr. Alexander concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury law, product liability, and civil litigation. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving workplace injuries, wrongful death, and defective products. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Alexander has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Santa Clara, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in San Jose for several years.
Mr. Alexander is an active member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, having served as its President in 1984 and as a Trustee from 1979 to 1981. He is also a member of the State Bar of California, where he served on the Board of Governors from 1985 to 1988 and as Vice President from 1987 to 1988. Additionally, he is a member of the California Trial Lawyers Association, where he served on the Board of Governors from 1990 to 1994 and from 1997 to 1999, and as Vice President from 1995 to 1996. He is also a certified Civil Trial Advocate through the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Alexander is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of San Jose effectively.
