About Ricardo
Ricardo Briones earned his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2005. He completed his legal training in San Antonio and moved into practice in Texas courts. The law degree marked the start of a career rooted in courtroom work and client representation.
Early in his career Briones worked at firms and in settings where he handled filings, hearings and trial preparation. He built familiarity with state procedure and the pace of Texas practice. Colleagues describe him as steady in the courtroom and precise in motion practice. He has developed a practical approach to managing case timelines and client expectations.
Over time Briones expanded the types of matters he accepts. He has worked on litigation that required motion practice, evidentiary hearings and trial strategies. He is comfortable presenting facts to judges and juries and counseling clients through the litigation process. He also handles negotiations and settlement discussions when those routes are appropriate to a client’s objectives.
Outside of litigation basics, Briones places emphasis on clear communication. He prefers to explain options plainly and to map out practical next steps for the people he represents. That style has shaped how he prepares pleadings and how he prepares witnesses for hearings. The aim is to reduce surprises and to keep cases moving toward resolution.
He maintains a principal office in Texas where he meets with clients, manages ongoing matters and coordinates with co-counsel when cases require broader teams. Briones is licensed to practice in Texas and appears regularly in state courts. He concentrates his practice on matters that arise in Texas courts and on the procedural and trial work that those matters demand.
