About Renata
An LL.M. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2019 anchors Renata Xavier’s formal legal training. She earned a Certificate in Fundamentals of U.S. Law from the same university, and she completed a Specialization Course in Bankruptcy at FADISP Specialized Law School. Those academic credentials provided a concentrated study of U.S. law and bankruptcy topics during a period when she was transitioning between practice and further study.
Xavier began practicing law before completing the LL.M. In 2016 she worked as a lawyer at Krikor Kayserlian Advocates & Associates. That position placed her in an active legal environment early in her career and exposed her to client work and courtroom processes in a practising firm setting. Three years later she returned to the United States for graduate study and an opportunity to observe federal bankruptcy practice firsthand.
In 2019 she served as an extern at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio. The externship took place while she was completing her LL.M. and allowed her to see how federal bankruptcy dockets operate. The courthouse experience complemented her classroom study and the bankruptcy coursework she had completed at FADISP.
Her background combines international practice experience and targeted U.S. legal education. The sequence — practicing lawyer, graduate study in the United States, then a federal externship — shaped a practical understanding of bankruptcy procedures and the fundamentals of U.S. law. She also maintains current professional association memberships.
Those elements of training and early practice inform the work she does now. Xavier is based at Lawrence & Associates. Her resume reflects both cross-border practice and specialized study in bankruptcy-related subjects. She brings that mix to case assessment, research and client counseling.
As of 2026 she continues to work at Lawrence & Associates, where her practice centers on bankruptcy matters and related issues arising under U.S. law.
