About Rebecca
Rebecca Romero-Vigil built a legal career that traces back to the courthouse hallways and long office nights. She earned her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law in 2004 and returned there to complete an LL.M. in Tax and Trusts and Estate in 2008. Those degrees frame much of her practice and inform how she approaches client matters.
Her entry into law began long before law school. In 1983 she worked as a litigation secretary in a variety of law offices, gaining practical exposure to court procedures and case management. After completing her graduate work, she served briefly as a contract lawyer at Tuttle & Van Konynenburg, LLP in 2009. That same year she opened the Law Office of Rebecca Romero-Vigil in Concord. The decision to start her own firm followed years of hands-on experience inside other lawyers’ practices.
Romero-Vigil holds memberships across several courts and bar organizations. She is admitted to practice in California, before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, and before the U.S. Tax Court. She joined the State Bar of California in 2009 and has been a member of the American Bar Association since 2004. Her involvement in local professional groups includes a seat on the Executive Committee of the Taxation Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco beginning in 2010. She also participates on the Low Fee Panel and volunteers for the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic through BASF. She is a commissioned notary public in the State of California.
Her academic credentials in tax and trusts translate into a practice that spans tax controversy, estate and trust matters, and related planning. Clients see her work in dispute settings before tax authorities and in negotiations that aim to resolve assessments or penalties. On the estate side, she advises on trust administration and probate-related issues that often overlap with tax concerns. Her caseload mixes individual taxpayers, small business owners, and estate matters that require both procedural and technical tax understanding.
The Law Office of Rebecca Romero-Vigil has operated from Concord since 2009. The practice handles contested tax matters and estate and trust issues, and it participates in low-fee and volunteer clinics to serve clients with limited resources. She currently concentrates her practice on tax, trusts and estate matters.
